21 countries, 36 artists. The 21st International Art Camp 10-25 August 2016, organised by the Inter-Art Foundation Aiud, Romania. Over a two-week period, in between cultural tours of the area, I worked on several small works and five large canvasses linking Grenada and Romania. The designs were based on an online article about the 1983 USA military Intervention/Invasion and the confiscating of a warehouse of items from the Soviet Bloc countries, among them canned beef from Romania. The blue flowers are a logo from a long established Romanian meat processor that may have contributed to the supply of canned beef to Grenada.
During this art camp, my Romanian work was also chosen to be part of the 31st ASROPA International Art Exhibition/GUNSAN UNESCO’s 9th Anniversary International Art Exhibition in South Korea, curated by South Korean artist Professor Dr Clemens Beungkun Sou.
