Arrived Venice on Saturday, 13 April. Headed from the airport via vaporetto (public water bus) to the Fte Nove stop, and a brisk walk to the Grenada Pavilion of the 2024 Venice Biennale.

The pavilion is housed upstairs in the lovely Palazzo Albrizzi Capello in Cannaregio. No time to browse, we got down to work to set up and install my new work, Foreigner Within. This is my experience of mastectomy following breast cancer, aligning with the Biennale theme Foreigners Everywhere and the pavilion theme of No Man is an Island.

Foreigner Within comprises two fabric installations: My own Power and Knowing and 20 photos New and changed landscape, and includes my responses to The Cancer Journals by Audre Lorde (activist of Grenada/Carriacou descent) who died from liver cancer following breast cancer.
